What is the database source settings to connect my workstation to server?
Answer by
Usha Kumari
To answer the user’s question about the program "PhilCRIS" and database source settings:
The specific database source settings needed to connect a workstation to a server in PhilCRIS can depend on your organization's network configuration and database management system. Generally, you would need the following information:
Server Name or IP Address: The network location of the database server.
Database Name: The specific database you are connecting to within the server.
Authentication Method: The type of authentication used (e.g., Windows Authentication or SQL Server Authentication).
Username and Password: Credentials used to access the database, if not using Integrated Security.
Port Number: The port through which to connect, usually default unless specified otherwise by your database admin (e.g., 1433 for SQL Server).
It is recommended to consult with your IT department or database administrator to ensure you have the correct settings and access permissions.
To view the saved data from a previous installation of PhilCRIS in the newly installed PhilCRIS, you will typically need to locate the backup or data file from the previous installation. Here are general steps you can follow:
Locate the Backup or Data File: Look for the PhilCRIS backup or database file on your computer. This could be in a default backup folder specified by the program, or wherever you might have manually saved backups.
Transfer the File: Copy the backup/data file to a location on the same computer where the new PhilCRIS is installed, if it is not already there.
Import Data: Open the newly installed PhilCRIS, and use the import or restore function to bring in the old data. This option is usually available in the program's menu, titled something like "Restore Data" or "Import Backup."
Follow Program-Specific Instructions: If PhilCRIS has specific documentation or instructions on how to restore or import data, follow those guidelines, as they will be tailored to the software's needs.
If you encounter issues or need specific guidance, it might be useful to contact PhilCRIS support or consult their user documentation for detailed instructions.

You will have to register with the National Statistics Office in order o obtain a user and password and then you can log-in.
